DICOM Migration

A DICOM migration is the most common migration performed throughout the industry, in many cases it can also be the most accurate. Using DICOM Query/Retrieve to move the data from your legacy PACS to your new PACS allows DICOM header information (from patient merges, edits, etc.) to be updated as the study is migrated out of the legacy PACS. In many cases it will also automate the transmission of any value-added data such as presentation states or notes. Acuo has pioneered technology that enables its DICOM migration services to operate at performance levels at or above media/rapid migration services.

Acuo performs DICOM migrations by ensuring that the retrieval from the legacy PACS is balanced with the ingestion of the new PACS and is performed at the maximum rate without impacting the production performance of either system. Acuo has the tools and expertise to uncover areas that may hinder the throughput of a migration and can tune the retrieval to specific hours or systems as needed.

An Acuo DICOM Migration is the safest way to move data from one system to another at a rapid pace. The ability to start a DICOM migration virtually immediately and allow the ongoing use of the legacy system makes this an appropriate strategy for the large majority of customers.
