UCP3 can be configured to normalize all incoming objects to standard DICOM format for name, accession number, pateint id, and other standard or private fields. Normlization rules can apply globally or for each site/department. Header elements can be modified to conform to standard DICOM syntax and usage, and can integrate with an MPI via PIX. Without an EMPI, UCP3 provides multiple internal capabilities, ensuring uniqueness across the enterprise.
Ability to modify DICOM metadata to conform to multiple PACS, workstation, or other application requirements.
The UCP3 tag mapper can be used to modify header data to conform to the missing, incorrect, or modified header data, or to provide cross-PACS interoperability. Common examples include replacing or modifying private tags, patient IDs and accession numbers. The tag mapper is configured using any DICOM tag, combination of DICOM tags, or any part of a tag in a rules-based configuration. Mapping functions include: append, clear, create, delete, leave, prepend, replace, replacetext, report, and trim. Mapping can be applied on inbound or outbound operations and is controlled by the customer, eliminating the need for complicated and expensive professional services engagements.
Ability to change compression type or other transfer syntaxes.
UCP3 supports multiple DICOM transfer syntaxes, both lossless and lossy. UCP3 can transcode compression types on the fly, based on destination requirements.
