Multiple Image Type Support

DICOM Objects

UCP3 fully supports existing and emerging DICOM objects as defined by the DICOM Standard. UCP3 contains unique technology that allows for the provision of updated or private DICOM SOP classes as customers and partners demand.

Non-DICOM Objects

UCP3 has the capability to store and associate non-standard objects with existing archived objects within a patient or study context. Non-DICOM applications are supported in multiple ways:

  • By DICOM-wrapping an object, optionally retaining the native format. DICOM-wrapping allows the association of the object with the patient's existing imaging studies, and enables viewing through any DICOM viewer.
  • XDS. UCP3 currently provides an XDS-i compliant imaging document source, along with an XDS compliant registry and respository.
  • Native Web Service. The UCP3 Web service interface allows association with a patient's existing studies. Client side access to the Web service is required. XDS-compliant context can be automatically added to all content checked in natively through Web services integration.
